Thyroid Compass — Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using Thyroid Compass (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Who we are

2. The App is a wellness tool — not medical advice

Thyroid Compass helps you track lab results and symptoms and uses artificial intelligence to surface patterns and prepare you for medical appointments.

The App is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. AI-generated interpretations, Action Plans, Insights, and doctor-visit summaries are educational in nature and are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

You agree:

• You will not start, stop, or change any medication based solely on information from the App.
• You will not delay seeking medical advice because of something the App says.
• You will always consult a qualified healthcare provider for decisions about your health.
• In a medical emergency, you will call 911 (US) or your local emergency number.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under 18, you may use the App only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

4. Your account and data

You don't create an "account" in the traditional sense — your data lives on your device. You are responsible for the security of your device, and for any actions taken in the App from your device.

You retain ownership of all data you enter or upload. You grant us a limited license to process that data solely to provide the App's features.

5. Subscriptions, free trial, and billing

The App offers a free tier with a 2-lab-upload limit and a paid Premium tier with unlimited uploads and additional features.

• Free trial. First-time subscribers may be offered a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically begin at the price displayed at signup.
• Pricing. Subscription prices, billing intervals, and trial duration are shown at the time of purchase. We reserve the right to change pricing for future subscription periods, with notice.
• Billing. All payments are processed by Apple via the App Store. We do not see your payment information.
• Auto-renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Cancellation. You can cancel your subscription at any time in iOS Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.
• Refunds. Refunds are handled solely by Apple per their standard policies. We are not able to issue refunds directly.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except to the extent permitted by law.
• Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
• Misrepresent your identity or impersonate any other person.
• Upload images or content that infringe on intellectual property rights or contain unlawful material.
• Attempt to circumvent paywalls, subscription limits, or other access controls.

7. AI and accuracy

The App uses AI to extract data from lab images, interpret results, and generate suggestions. AI systems can make mistakes. Specifically:

• Extraction may fail or misread numbers, particularly from low-quality images.
• Interpretations and Action Plans are educated approximations, not clinical diagnoses.
• Trend analysis is sensitive to data quality and may surface spurious patterns from small data sets.

You are responsible for verifying any AI output against your actual lab report and your clinician's judgment. We make no warranty that AI outputs are accurate, complete, or fit for any purpose.

8. Intellectual property

The App, its design, code, AI prompts, and content (excluding your own data) are owned by us and protected by intellectual property law. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

9. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time and delete it from your device. We may suspend or terminate access to the App if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the App.

10. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT AI OUTPUTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Dylan Schob WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE LIABILITY, OR (B) USD $50.

NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS OR EXCLUDES OUR LIABILITY FOR GROSS NEGLIGENCE, FRAUD, OR ANY OTHER LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED OR EXCLUDED BY LAW.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dylan Schob from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Mississippi, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the App will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Harrison County, Mississippi.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
